Tractors Show Their True Colors
The proof is in the paint. These tractors display their pride on their sheet metal.
For the second time, Case IH displayed a patriotically painted tractor at farm shows across the country. This time, it was a Magnum 180 that traveled the farm-show circuit to recognize 165 years of continuous manufacturing in Racine, Wis. The tour will continue in 2009 to mark the 200th year since the birth of Cyrus McCormick.
In 1976, to celebrate the U.S. bicentennial and the company’s legacy of manufacturing in Wisconsin, the 1570 “Spirit of ’76 Agri-King” tractor made its debut. The vintage model joins the “Stars & Stripes” Case IH Magnum on the current tour.
To benefit the National FFA Organization, New Holland donated a T6050 Elite tractor with a custom-decorated hood. The FFA emblem was placed on a background reminiscent of the blue jacket worn by FFA members. The T6050 was auctioned to raise money for FFA scholarships and programs.
The auction took place during the national FFA convention held in Indianapolis, Ind. The winning bid came from a New Holland dealer. New Holland has been a sponsor of the National FFA Organization for 60 years.
