ASABE Revises Ag-Equipment Safety Standard for PTOs

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has revised of one of its most widely used standards and created a new a new standard in the process.
 
The revised document, ANSI/ASAE S318.17, Safety for Agricultural Field Equipment, excludes sections on power take-off (PTO) drive shaft and power input connection. The exclusions now form the basis of a new ASABE standard, ANSI/ASAE S604, Safety for Power Take-off (PTO), Implement Input Driveline (IID), Implement Input Connection (IIC) and Auxiliary Power Take-off (aux. PTO) for Agricultural Field Equipment.
