APEM Offers Protection Against Accidental Actuation

08/13/2009

APEM Components, Inc., a manufacturer of switches and joysticks, has introduced the HP series of recessed push-button switch guards. The switch guard mounts flush into the panel providing a distinct target for the push-button switch and protection against accidental actuation.

The HP Series sealed push-button guards fit into a 22 mm round panel cut-out. This product is made from 2011 T3 aluminum and is available in a clear anodized finish as well as black, red and green.

The HP push-button guard works with APEM’s IP series line of sealed push-button switches. The switches are available in momentary and maintained functions and are offered in 7 actuator colors. APEM's proprietary elastomeric seal construction ensures an IP67 seal while providing the IP with its unique feel. APEM’s IP series is rated for 100mA at 24 VDC with an expected life of 200,000 cycles, and 2A at 125 VAC with an expected life of 10,000 cycles per UL 1054. The IP is manufactured with gold plated silver contacts and is available pre-wired or with solder lug terminals.
