New AGCO Experience Awaits Growers at Fall Farm Shows

08/13/2009

Farmers attending the Farm Progress Show and Husker Harvest Days this fall are in for something new from AGCO Corporation. AGCO is departing from the usual and expected rows of equipment to focus on the company's new tractor lines, providing growers with an entirely new experience, the AGCO Experience a Tractor Revolution road show.

For farmers visiting the farm show circuit this fall, the AGCO lot will have everything from interactive displays to daily live tractor demonstrations, presentations on new technologies such as AGCO's e3 technology and just-for-fun activities.

New harvesting, hay, tillage and application equipment also will debut at the shows, and with product demonstrations, interactive displays and activities, there will be something for everyone.

The Experience a Tractor Revolution tour features a 53-foot mobile display trailer housing an interactive presentation that details the creation of the Challenger MT600C Series, Massey Ferguson 8600 Series and AGCO Tractors DT Series tractors from farmer-directed concepts to the final product. This centerpiece will be surrounded by displays from each of the tractor lines. Demonstrations of the tractors in action will take place throughout the day in an outdoor arena complete with a professional announcer for a rodeo-style approach to the events.

An Inside Look
Within the trailer, farmers may view a virtual build of the tractor, watching it come together. A video explains the history of the AGCO SISU POWER 8.4L diesel engines, which power the 205 to 275 PTO horsepower tractors and then shows the engines being built in the company's factory in Finland.

The road show also gives growers an up-close view of the new heavy-duty continuously variable transmission (CVT). The fully functioning transmission is enclosed in a glass showcase allowing growers to watch it work as they test the transmission and experience the infinite speed control which is delivered without shifting, jerking or a delay in traction or power. New exclusive technology allows the customer to automatically set both engine speed and transmission ratio for maximum productivity and efficiency with just the push of a button.

Farmers also learn about the industry's newest clean-air technology, e3 selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, which AGCO introduced to in 2009. A display demonstrates how the technology treats exhaust after it passes through the engine to meet clean-air requirements while maintaining the engine's full power and actually improving fuel efficiency up to 15%.

Take a Trip
Each visitor to the Tractor Revolution road show also has the opportunity to sit in the cab of the tractor and experience what it is like to operate the machine in the field. The final presentation details the operation of the tractors' optional guidance, automated machine management, field data management and precision farming technologies.
