With the release of AEM’s July 2009 flash report, farm equipment sales still sag below the five-year average. All horsepower segments of two-wheel-drive tractors were less than July 2008 sales and year-to-date sales numbers for the segment were less than 2008 numbers as well.
Four-wheel-drive tractor sales and combine sales are higher than July 2008 and year-to-date figures. The four-wheel-drive tractor market reports a 38.2% increase in sales compared with July 2008. Segment sales are up 10% year-to-date.
Combine sales are 33.7% more than July 2008 numbers, and year-to-date totals are 30.4% higher than the previous year.
