With an updated series of row-crop tractors, a resized self-propelled sprayer and powerful hay and forage harvesters, John Deere introduces a lineup of machines designed for efficiency and reliability.
Born from the foundation of the 8030 Series, the 8R Series of tractors includes six-wheel models ranging from 181 PTO hp to 284 PTO hp and three tracked models ranging from 239 PTO hp to 281 PTO hp. All 8R Series tractors are powered by 9-liter John Deere PowerTech Plus engines. The initial 8 in the model number designates the series, and the following three digits represent the rated engine horsepower.
The CommandView II cab makes its debut on the 8R Series. The cab features four times more floor space, a reconfigured armrest and side-mounted controls that rotate with the seat for 25% more swivel, a three-position instructor seat and 30% more airflow. The in-cab displays have been reduced from five to two, and the CommandCenter virtual terminal is ISO 11783-compliant. The four SCVs have been increased to five color-coded SCVs.
The tracked models in the 8RT Series feature the AirCushion suspension system first designed for the 9030T Series. The track undercarriage provides a 10" longer footprint for 99" of ground contact. Track tension increased from 22,000 lb. to 32,000 lb., and the walking beam suspension oscillates +/– 5°. The Infinitely Variable Transmission is standard on the 8345RT tractor and an option on other 8RT models. A Category 4N/3 rear hitch, which supplies 18,300 lb. of hitch-lift capacity is optional. Fuel capacity increased to 200 gal.
Replacing the 6700 model self-propelled sprayer, John Deere offers the 4630 model. Built on a C-channel frame and air-ride four-link suspended axle, this sprayer has two axle configurations: a narrow setting of 72" to 88" or a wide setting of 90" to 120". Powered by a 6.8-liter John Deere PowerTech engine, the 4630 offers spray speeds up to 17 mph, a 600-gal. poly tank and a 60'/80' boom.

With the introduction of the 7950 self-propelled forage harvester, John Deere has built its most powerful forage harvester to date. Boasting 800 hp and a 19-liter Cummins engine, this machine can be paired with the new 770 corn heads and 600C pickup heads. The 7950 harvester can be outfitted with HarvestLab and AutoLOC (automatic length of cut) technologies and is part of the five-model 7050 Series. The 770 corn head is a 10-row unit on 30" spacings. The 600C Series is built with hydraulic-foldable gauge wheels, a redesigned roller-tine compression unit, a pivoting frame and a lifting auger during reversing. The 600C Series ranges from 9'9" to 13'2" and 14'6".
The three-model 400 Series of self-propelled windrowers features a faster transport speed of 21 mph, a smoother ride and increased maneuverability. The rear-axle steering assist system has three operating modes to accommodate challenging conditions and sharp turns. The 125-hp A400 model is compatible with sickle and Honey Bee draper heads. The 125-hp D400 model is dedicated for draper applications. The 200-hp R450 model fits rotary, sickle and Honey Bee draper heads.
